Halo nevus. White depigmented zone surrounds regressing central nevus.
Halo nevus with early hypopigmentation surrounding congenital melanocytic nevus.
CLINICAL FEATURES
A halo nevus is seen as a white zone surrounding an intradermal nevus or a congenital melanocytic nevus.
A halo nevus in hairy areas may show loss of pigment in the hairs (poliosis).
TREATMENT
There is no need for treatment as the skin areas will eventually repigment. The child with associated vitiligo may require vitiligo therapy.
