Examination
• Large ‘v’ waves in the jugular venous pulse (Fig. 19.1)
• Pansystolic murmur at the left lower sternal border, which increases in inspiration (Carvallo’s sign)
• Right ventricular third heart sound may be present
• Atrial fibrillation may be present
