CLINICAL FEATURES

Purpuric gloves-and-socks syndrome is a rare manifestation of parvovirus B19 infection. It is heralded by the acute onset of fever, pruritus, painful edema and purpura of the distal extremities in a ‘gloves and socks’ distribution. It may be accompanied by oral and facial lesions.

TREATMENT

Treatment is unnecessary because the illness resolves spontaneously within a few weeks.
